SOLU Israel ("SOLU," "we," "us," or "our") operates soluisrael.org and related pages (the "Site"). This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and the rights available to you under the GDPR, CCPA, and other applicable privacy laws.
1. Information we collect
We collect information you provide directly: name, email address, postal address (if supplied), and — when you donate — payment details processed through our payment provider Stripe. We never store full credit card numbers on our servers.
We also collect limited information automatically: IP address, browser type, device, pages visited, and referring URLs, through server logs and cookies (see "Cookies" below).
2. How we use your information
We use your information to: (a) process your donations and send tax receipts, (b) send ministry updates you have requested (weekly prayer, monthly updates), (c) respond to your questions or messages, (d) improve our website and services, and (e) comply with legal obligations.
3. Legal basis for processing (GDPR)
We process your personal data under one or more of the following legal bases: your consent (for marketing communications), performance of a contract (for donation processing), our legitimate interests (website improvement, fraud prevention), and compliance with legal obligations (tax reporting).
4. Cookies and similar technologies
We use first-party cookies for session state and preferences. With your consent, we also use analytics cookies (Google Analytics) to measure usage. You can accept or reject non-essential cookies through our cookie consent banner, and clear cookies at any time in your browser.
5. Data sharing
We share your data only with service providers who help us operate the Site: Stripe (payments), Resend (transactional email), and Google Analytics (usage analytics). These providers are contractually bound to protect your data and use it only for the services we request.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties.
6. Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your personal data; to restrict or object to certain processing; and to withdraw consent at any time. California residents have additional rights under the CCPA. EU/UK residents may lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
To exercise any of these rights, email hello@soluisrael.org. We will respond within 30 days.
7. Data retention
We retain donation records for as long as required by tax law (generally seven years in the US). Newsletter subscribers may unsubscribe at any time via the link in every email; we retain a suppression record to honor your opt-out. Inquiries and contact messages are retained for up to three years.
8. Children
Our Site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe we have, please contact us and we will delete the information.
9. International transfers
We are based in Israel, with service providers in the European Union and the United States. By using the Site, you consent to the transfer of your information to these jurisdictions, which may have different data-protection rules than your own. We rely on Standard Contractual Clauses and provider-side safeguards for EU-to-US transfers.
10. Security
We use industry-standard safeguards (TLS in transit, access controls, provider-side encryption at rest) to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure; we encourage you to use strong passwords and contact us at once if you suspect unauthorized access.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the latest revision. Material changes will be communicated via email to registered users or via a banner on the Site.
