What is a DAF?
A Donor-Advised Fund (DAF) is a charitable account you open at a sponsor organization — National Christian Foundation, Fidelity Charitable, Schwab Charitable, Vanguard Charitable, your community foundation, or a similar provider. You contribute cash, stock, or other assets to the fund, take an immediate tax deduction in that year, and then recommend grants to qualified 501(c)(3) charities (like SOLU) over time.
In 2025, more than $43 billion was granted from DAFs in the United States. If you have one, recommending a grant to SOLU takes about three minutes.
How to recommend a grant to SOLU
Log into your DAF account and start a grant recommendation. You'll need three pieces of information:
Charity name: SOLU Israel
EIN (US tax ID): 87-4824515
Mailing address: SOLU Israel, 4205 Brigstock Ct, Williamsburg, VA 23188
Most providers will find us automatically by name or EIN. You can recommend a one-time grant or a recurring grant. We receive a check from your sponsor within 1–4 weeks; you receive an acknowledgment from your sponsor for tax records (no separate receipt from SOLU is needed since you already received your deduction when you funded the DAF).
If you'd like to designate your grant — Worship School Scholarships, Staff Support, or Out of Zion Tour — add the designation in the "Purpose" or "Special Instructions" field of your grant recommendation. We honor every designation.
Why give from a DAF?
You've already taken the tax deduction; the money in your DAF is committed to charity. Granting it out is the most tax-efficient way to support a ministry like SOLU — you avoid capital-gains tax on appreciated assets contributed to your fund, and there's no minimum or maximum grant size at most providers.
For partners considering a major gift, DAF grants are often the simplest path. Email us if you're thinking about a leadership-level gift and we can walk you through the timing and designation options.
Ready to give this way?
Email Sarah or Olesyah and we'll walk you through the transfer step by step. We don't hand you off to a portal — a real person responds within 24 hours.
